FAQ

Shipping and orders

When will my order ship?

I pour, label and post everything myself, usually within one working day. With Royal Mail Tracked 48 on top, most UK orders arrive three to four days after you order. Christmas is slower — up to five working days to get out the door.

Where do you ship?

UK only for now. The EU and US are on the list.

What's your return policy?

Thirty days from delivery, for any reason. Open the box, have a proper look, change your mind — that's fine, as long as you haven't burned it. Full details on the returns page.

My candle arrived damaged. Now what?

Email jason@waywarduk.shop with a photo of the tin and the packaging and I'll replace it or refund you. You won't need to post the damaged one back.

Product and materials

What kind of wax do you use?

A paraffin and coconut blend, chosen for scent throw. Soy holds fragrance more delicately; this blend carries it further into the room, which is the whole point of a destination.

Why do these smell different to other candles?

Because the fragrance is built for the place, not picked from a catalogue. Every blend is custom-made for Wayward — you won't find the same scent under someone else's label. Most take around ten rounds of adjustment before they smell like the room I had in mind. A few never get there and don't make the collection.

Are the tins recyclable?

Yes. Clean out the last of the wax, peel the label off, and it goes in with your household metal recycling. Steel and aluminium tins are accepted almost everywhere.

Or keep it. Plenty of people do.

Safety

Are these safe to burn at home?

Yes, with the usual care any candle needs.

On the chemistry: every blend is fully CLP compliant and backed by a Safety Data Sheet.

On the physical side, the one thing worth knowing is that these are metal tins, and metal gets hot. Once there's a decent pool of melted wax, the tin will be too hot to pick up. So stand it on something heat-resistant, keep it clear of curtains and anything else that catches, and don't move it while it's lit or still warm.

The rest is standard: burn within sight, keep away from children and pets, never leave it unattended, and trim the wick to 5mm before each burn.

Do your fragrances contain allergens?

The declared allergens for each candle are on the CLP label on the base of the tin, and listed on the product page. If you're checking for something specific and can't find it, email me and I'll look it up.

The future

Do you make anything besides candles?

Car air fresheners are in development. Same idea, smaller space. Also various bit of merch.

Do you sell wholesale?

Possibly. Email jason@waywarduk.shop and tell me about your shop.
